The blind Cerean Jedi sat in a meditation room. He was reflecting on his life as Jedi and the future in said role. His yellow lightsaber pike sat at his feet and he communed with the Force and the spirits of fallen Jedi.
He thought The Living Force, spirits of the fallen, guide this Order forward through our darkest days.
He waited as he meditated. He had a feeling that the negotiations had fallen through and war was upon the Republic. He opened his eyes and nodded. War was about to explode across the galaxy and it was unavoidable.

Johma stood at the view port of the shuttle that had taken him to his ill-fated meeting with the Sith Lord Spellca. He would prefer to be flying the Gliding Relic, but his personal ship was not exactly the most presentable. It was reliable, but not something that had a sense of professionalism to it. So now he was being ferried to the temple in order to report the results to the council.
The shuttle landed and Johma walked down the ramp, met by a few representatives of the Republic. He handed a data card to one and the man hurried to take the report the card held to his superiors. Johma himself headed to the temple, ready to inform the council of the results of the attempt at negotiations. He hadn't ever really felt comfortable around the council. To be honest, he wasn't really comfortable with what they had assigned him to go do this time. He was a warrior, and such things were not in the scope of his experience.
Heading to the council chamber, he was told to wait as the members were gathered before he was to enter. Johma closed his eyes and he stood with his hands clasped behind his back. Waiting he could do. It gave him time to clear his head and gather the thoughts he needed. Soon he would be giving the council the news that the data card gave the republic. War was going to truly break out in the galaxy once more.

Kanta stood in the large hall, the light brown hood of his Jedi disguise covering his Sith tattoos, as he held the small Ysalamiri close to him, so as to avoid some obscene lump under his tightly held robe. There was no denying, even as a powerful Sith assassin, being in the very heart of the Jedi Temple was a very strange, almost horrifying thing. Perhaps he was simply lucky that he was clearly more capable than most other Jedi in this temple.
He had managed to easily take out one of the Jedi guards, and donned his robes and armor, and was now trotting about the Temple, with his mission well laid out by his superiors; Kanta was to infiltrate the archives, and steal away a weapon of strange power, that had been reclaimed many ages ago - The Darksaber. Kanta was unsure what this weapon could do when compared to an average saber, and was not even sure if the task was all that important in itself, but he thought better than to argue with his superiors.
As Kanta started to make his way into the large hall of old tomes and secrets, he passed underneath the Council chambers, and was lucky his Ysalamiri was hiding his presence so well, otherwise he'd be dead meat in the next few seconds.

It was an extremely lazy day for young Jedi Knight Kaelyn Dantius - if any day in the life of a Jedi could be considered 'lazy'. The majority of her day was spent in her quarters, browsing news stories on the Holonet, reading mission reports that she had filed. She didn't handle boredom well however, especially with the threat of a galactic war ever looming in the distance.
With a sigh she hopped off her bed, walking to the far side of the room and exiting. Her lightsabers swayed along with her hips as she strolled down the long, cool hall, her steps echoing due to the relative emptiness. She gave slight nods of approval toward others as she walked, though she really had no idea where she was going or why. It was just nice to walk every now and then, especially when faced with the calming aura the temple seemed to irradiate to her.
She allowed herself to come to a stop once she realized where she was heading - the Council Chamber. With a chuckle, she walked toward one of the large windows, gazing out at the planet before her. "And soon the fighting will begin. The negotiations will fail, and war will be here,"[/i] she calmly thought. Battle is where she felt most comfortable...

Master Min stepped out of his meditation room and walked towards the Council Chamber. Using the staff of his lightsaber pike as a walking stick - the repeated ping of the staff hitting the floor echoed throughout the Temple corridors. It was the tell-tale sign that Master Min was on the move.
He saw a few Jedi had moved towards the Chamber but he found that the rest of the Council wasn't present. As a senior member, he decided to call it to order and speak with his fellow Jedi.
The master sat in his seat and looked at the other Jedi. He noticed the Jedi Knight Johma Casto, the negotiator of the Republic-Sith Treaty that well through.
He gestured topwards him. "Is it true, young Jedi? Is the war truely upon us or is the pundits on the Holonet speaking mere rumor?"
The master leaned back in his seat and brought his hand to his chin moving his palm and fingers over his mouth casually as if he was in thought.

Joham's eyes opened as he sensed it was time. The council and several other Jedi. He was of course in the center of the room when everyone had settled in. He gave a bow at the waist before he stood with his hands once more clasped at the small of his back. "I regret to inform you that war is indeed upon us." He said while making sure his voice was very clear with no allowance for him to be misheard.
"From speaking with him, I do not believe Darth Spellca wished to even attempt for a real truce. Reason was not brought into the talks from his end. He would not allow for any true negotiations." He continued, making sure he was taking time to look at each person in the room.
"The Republic has received my report along with a list of the systems that Spella had mentioned his interest in. They Republic can prepare the for the Imperial fleet however they choose to with the information they have, but we must decide what to do with the Sith." While he was standing calm and attempting to seem relaxed, Johma was rather nervous. This was the first high profile assignment he had been given, and it had ended in him having to report that war was once more upon the galaxy.

After watching numerous cargo and personal vessles come in and out of view who knows how many times, Kaelyn had become bored once more. Her interest briefly peeked as she heard the tell-tale sound of one of the Council Masters moving down the hall using his pike, but that was shortly ended as he entered the chambers. It was unlike her to be so curious about matters she was not directly involved in, yet she couldn't right help herself.
She glanced around before skipping in a straight line to the Chamber, the doors sliding open for her, though she stopped in the entrance way to allow another Jedi to finish his report. Seems she was right, war was directly on the horizon, at least from as much as she could gather given that she missed most of it. "So we fight? Is that what you're saying or should I have stepped in here five minutes ago?" she questioned. With a half grin, she walked to the center of the room to stand next to Johma, giving a slight bow when she came to a stop.
"Because if war is on the horizon, I'm more than ready to bring the fight." she confidently stated. This is after all, the type of thing she was suited to. The whole idea of negotiations had been silly to her from the get go, there was no negotiating with blood thirsty Sith. Her grin probably made her look too enthusiastic about the war, should she even be allowed to take part after making such a bold statement.

The elder Jedi smiled as the young woman entered and stated her opinion. "Fight, no? Defend, yes. War is here then and everyone knows it. We should prepare to save lifes and give our own if needed. We are the guardians of the Republic and the saviors of life...all life. We are to redeem the corrupt, preserve the injured and mourn the fallen with our weapons ready and the Force as our guide." Master Min paused for a moment. Tapping the end of his staff onto the ground, the echo rippled outwards.
"Remember young Jedi, all actions have reactions. All thoughts have opposition. All friends have enemies; all love is hate. The Dark Side isn't kept outside these walls, it is within the walls, on our robes, in our flesh and in our souls. It will remain such until all life returns to where it was born - the Netherworld of the Force. The line between dark and light will blur and all will seem...gray. The evils of this universe, personified in Spellca and his minions, will test you - you will lust for more power in order to end this war and stop the deaths. That is ther trap they set for wayward Jedi."
He tapped his staff again and took a deep breath. "Remember, the echo of this staff..." It was tapped again. "Like the sound waves in the air or ripples in the water, the Force ripples and flows. The dark and light are illusions, testaments to creed and when the Force ripples with power - it blurs and you will be tested to use your emotions of anger, hate, fear and vengence to strike down your enemies. But one dead Sith killed in rage, breeds another. This is how the Sith populate the damned corners of space."

Johma's attention shifted to the young woman who entered and walked to stand next to him. He wasn't familiar with her, though there were many in the Jedi temple that he didn't know. He was normally on Corellia so this wasn't a surprise. He gave a slight smile at her words, she certainly had enthusiasm, thought to a level it could be dangerous to have her out and about.
Before he could reply, Master Min gave his speech. Johma listened respectfully, but he had gone over these matters in his head and had solidly chosen his stance on things. He only listened out of respect for Master Min. "Not matter what stance we are going to take on this, we need to prepare." Johma said as his focus shifted to the council. "We know that Spellca is fairly certain to be targeting Byss, and I'm not sure if he mentioned his plan to invade Muunilist as a ruse, but it is not something we should ignore. Spellca didn't strike me as a man who would make these statements idly." He continued.
Johma was hoping he would remain part of this instead of being sent back to Watch over Corellia. He enjoyed his post, but this was far to large for him to be comfortable with just cooling his heels, though if that was what he was ordered to do, he would do so until he saw a reason for him to defy such orders. And if that happened, he would be perfectly willing to do just that.

Kaelyn somewhat felt like a scolded child as Master Min spoke, though she knew he was right in correcting her. Jedi were defenders of peace and upholders of justice, not soldiers. She hung her head as he continued speaking, her hands clasped firmly behind her back until he came to a stop. "My apologies, Master," was all she could mutter before turning to Johma. She stood in silence as he spoke, speaking far more professionally and with a great deal more intellect than she did. Once he came to an end, she turned back toward Master Min with hopeful eyes.
"I'll go to Byss, if you'd please. If not, I'll gladly go to Muunilist as well. I believe I'd be capable of watching over them. Send the best to the highest priority planets, then we'd have to sit back and play the waiting game on those that are left. From a tactical stand point it makes sense, but what have you Master Min?" she spoke plainly, trying to seem as uneffected as possible at the previous lecture.
This was a chance to truly prove herself, she'd been on assignments here and there but nothing like this. This was far too important. The mere thought of losing any planet to Sith rule was maddening, and something that couldn't be allowed, not in the time of war especially. "We must decide soon before they can make the first move. Like a game of dejarik, except we're simply the pawns and the galaxy is on the line..." she finished with a sigh.

"Yes young one, it is much like dejarik. The only difference is that planet's aren't lost for a poor move. Master Qui-Gon Jinn of the Old Republic Order once compared the game to combat training...learning from oneself as much as one's opponet. Spellca wants Byss...let him move to take it. Muunilist may also be a ruse. One bluff and one ruse - how unlike Spellca. I engaged Spellca a few time during the war before the Empire collapsed and the survivors fled out of the galaxy. He is a cold, sadistic taskmaster...but he is direct. He always lets on to his motives in one way or another." The blind Jedi thought to himself for a few moments.
What does he want...Byss is in his scope but a direct assault on the Deep Core would be suicide. Muunilist would be a target down the line but for a spectacular first battle. Wait...wait...
The master stood up. "I figured out what we need to know. Come you two, to the Archieves, we have a chance to predict a massive assault.."
The Jedi whipped himself out the door, he was faster this time, in a hurry...no tapping, no slow walk. He was waiting for the two younger Jedi at the end of the corridor. "Come now, you two...We need to figure this out and cushion the blow against the Republic."

As Min spoke, Johma noticed that Kaelyn seemed to hold in her eagerness much more aptly than when she showed such passion about her intention to take the fight to the Empire, a feeling he himself had running through him. He was simply more reserved about it. Master Min had taken in what they had said, and then pondered over the matter. Johma had decided to be silent for the time being. He was not a strategist, he was a weapon. A weapon that would wait for the target to be selected.
Before long, Min had rising from his seat and had asked Johma and Kaelyn to follow him. The Knight rose an eyebrow in curiosity as he decided to follow the Jedi Master, walking with the smooth easy step that made his training apparent. He was curious as to what had seemed to click in the man's head, because he sensed a certainty that had suddenly flared up.
Johma had rarely been to the Archives. He had little chance in his time as a member of the Order, so in a way it was something of a treat, though he didn't like the cost of this. He had a feeling that the key to making sure that the Sith didn't gain too much of an upper hand would bey held in their destination. He was also glad that Kaelyn had been beckoned to come along. Her eagerness would cause her problems if she were left out of this, a feeling Johma understood only to well to to his Echani blood.

Kaelyn felt a little let down as her request wasn't even mentioned, though she was positive it was for good reason. Her suspicions were true as Master Min left his seat and exited the Council Chambers in a hurry. She was taken back at first, not believing the elderly Master could move so quick and fluidly, yet there he was right before her eyes, walking down the corridor toward the archives. She watched as Johma followed after him, her eyebrow raising and her mouth opening like she was about to speak, yet she decided against it.
Kaelyn followed behind or Jedi comrade and Master Min, walking with far less grace than people typically associated with members of the ancient Order. She liked to show off with her walk, bold steps, allowing her robe to kick up as it came into contact with her leg. Bold steps for an even bolder Jedi, she'd dare say. She slowed her steps as she neared Master Min, cocking her head slightly to the side.
"What could we possibly learn in the archives that will help us to defend the Republic this time? Wars long passed won't do much to assist us, we can't formulate proper tactics. I doubt reading about Sith will improve our odds any. So you must have one grand ace up your sleeve. No disrespect Master Min, I do trust in your wisdom...it just makes little sense to me, to be consulting the archives now of all times. We should be mobilizing, requesting troops from the Republic, focus on setting up defenses on the planets that can't afford an assault. Action is required sooner much rather than later," Kaelyn explained her point of viewing, pausing to catch her breath afterwards. She could go on ling winded rants when the need struck her...

"Yes, but there is one war that we can learn from. Spellca fought in the conflicts leading up to the collapse of Xavor's empire. He became one of the leading military minds of in the galaxy and it was his mind that spawned some of the most bloody battles of those wars. His way of fighting is recorded in these Achieves and, perhaps, the secrets to the future are within. Kaelyn, you are a skilled Jedi, but you ground yourself too much in the physical...too much in what you see and feel in this world. Give an old Jedi a chance..."
Min arrived at a holoprojector at the archieves. He pressed a few buttons and an planet appeared on the holoprojector. "This is the planet Sullust and as you can see a large Imperial fleet surrounds it. The Imperials won here, as they did on Kashyyyk, Mon Calamari and Felucia. They occupied the world, enslaved the local population, imprisoned them on large vessels and sent them off for labor purposes. Spellca did this same pattern whenever Xavor needed to complete a project or increase production."
The master turned to his Jedi and said. "Now, fresh out of exile and with limited resources, Spellca needs to get to work making his Sith Empire's stronger in this galaxy. He needs labor." The elder Jedi hit a few more buttons on the console and a new image appeared. "This is a Sith Fleet, a large on at that, within the Mytaranor sector on the Mid-Rim. Who knows what perticular Republic world sits in that area?"
The elder Jedi's head was cocked to the side in a playful fashion.

Johma silently agreed with Master Min, Kaelyn seemed to be a fine member of the order, but she seemed ready to rush right into the conflict without taking the time to learn about her enemy. Johma watched with interest as Min went over Spellca's history of battles. The strategies seemed simple, but effective. And that was the sign of a person who would be successful in such endeavors.
Then the Mytaranor system was brought up. Johma looked thoughtful. "Well the most well known world would be Kashyyyk. And I know there were several skirmishes involving the Sith in that system. Slavers had also operated heavily in the system. As with some of the other worlds in that sector of space, there could be a multitude of reasons that Spellca would find this place to be of interest. Slaves for labor being the most likely with all factors taken in." He said as he recalled his history studies.
He looked to the Jedi master. "So he's after slaves, not an uncommon practice, the question is how we are going to go about working with this situation." He added before shifting his gaze to Kaelyn. There was a good chance one or both of them were about to be sent to that area of space.
